Christmas

Christmas is a great time for choral music. Here are some of the pieces I have written for the festive season.

There is no rose

Chrismas anthem for SATB and piano

This is a link to a video of the English Arts Chorale's 2020 Christmas concert, including a performance of There is no rose, starting at about 6:20. Conducted by Leslie Olive.

The stars shine bright

Christmas anthem for high voices with piano accompaniment and optional flute and clarinet.

This is an extract from my oratorio The Mysteries of Joy, with words by Christopher Loveless.

Recorded at a live performance in Warnham, July 2011.

The stars shine bright o'er Bethlehem,

But dark and weary is the road.

The donkey stumbles as he goes

Beneath his precious load.

Myn lyking

Christmas anthem for soprano and baritone solo and unaccompanied SAB chorus. A setting of words from the 15th century.

Peace on Earth

Simple but effective Christmas song for SATB and piano. I wrote the words as well as the music for this.

Lute-book lullaby

Christmas anthem for unaccompanied SATB chorus. Words by William Ballet.
